Poly Graduation
Monday, May 20, 2013
Finally walked through the last chapter of poly education. Graduation in polytechnic really meant a different meaning from pri or sec school. Wearing a graduation robe and going onstage to receive that scroll box is really an amazing feeling. It makes me feel grown-up and all. 3 years of poly life coming to an end brings a mixed feelings of happiness and sadness. Happiness on achieving completion in diploma, but sadness on the thought of everyone going on different paths from now on. The friendships built in these 3 years have been very very precious. First session on the 17th May! And as early as 9am we had to be seated in the convention centre. Huge hall filled with both graduants and guests. After the national anthem speech was given and then followed by the presentation of scroll boxes. The whole population of DBA and DTRM graduants took about 2+ hours to finish the whole ceremony. Live cameras were shooting at our expressions and playing them big on the screens. >< But good thing it all ended pretty fast. Highlight for my day was more like taking pictures with all my friends after the ceremony. Was supposed to had reception but there was totally no time for it. Everyone were busy taking pictures to commemorate the big day and running here and there for familiar faces. Didn’t even realised time passed so fast when we were taking pictures that day! Sun was blazing hot and sweating like mad under the thick robe but it was all worth it to capture the precious last moments in SP. Don’t know why there’s just a tinge of sadness at the thought that we are graduating. Probably because then you’re leaving and SP no longer is ‘yours’, the feeling of losing a sense of belonging in a place you’ve been in the past 3 years. Only managed to take shots with 2 lecturers on that day. But good thing they are one of my favourite lecturers, especially Albert Phua! Hahahas cute lecturer in SP, bet I’m not the only student who likes him! And also not forgetting Melissa Lim who helped me greatly in NVP. Though not a formal lecturer who taught me any modules, but still a very nice mentor in guiding us for our final year project. Always remember the off-track topics we talk about other than our project! (cosmetics, branded stuff, etc.) And also tzeying whom is the only dependant I had in DBA~ Though ironically we only become classmates for 1 sem during our last year for the 3 years we’re in SP. And many more other friendships in the 3 years spent… Projects or fun, together as one. Many thanks to the Suzhou trip where I met this great bunch of people!!! Definitely one of the best things I’ve ever did in my life so far. Finally many many thanks to this buddy who stuck through thick and thin with me for the 3 years in SP. Went through many things together and shared lots of memories with each other! Can’t imagine how life would be without her! So thankful even though in the last sem we were in diff classes but still remained as close as before! And that pretty much sums up my poly education. Now that I’m entering another phase of life, i’m both excited and anxious. The anxiety of first entering poly in mid-apr 2010 seemed like just yesterday. Now I know a new environment is waiting for me ahead and I hope things goes well like it had went for me when I entered SP. Gonna pray hard for things to be good or even better! |
Goodbye.
